God Speaks Through Birds 2

I came up to the stop light at Broadway and Atkinson Rd in Pittsburg, KS the other day.  This is a busy intersection for Pittsburg.  And I soon notice two cars pulled over to my right.  I noticed the cars because there where two men standing at the back of the cars looking intently into the intersection.  When I say looking intently, I mean you could tell they were into the moment and trying to make a decision of whether to enter into the intersection or stay safely on the side of the road.  I took a quick glace into the intersection trying to figure out what had these two grown men so intrigued.  I saw nothing in the intersection at all.  I looked back at the men and they continued to be animated about the events that I couldn't see.   I thought, maybe this is one of those hidden camera things; what would you do if... So I took another look into the street and just then they caught my eye.  Three small killdeers running across the road.  One adult bird and two tiny little baby birds.  I watched as they miraculously made it to the other side of the street and the men who where watching cheered with excitement.

It reminded me of the scripture in Hebrews that reminds us there is a great cloud of witnesses that surrounds us as we live our life of faith.  Heaven is cheering you on and hoping and encouraging you on until the race is over.  (Hebrews 12:1) God is on your side!  He is fighting for you and not against you!  God wants you to succeed and not fail in your journey of faith!

At times in my life when I have failed and completely felt like I was a useless and hopeless person.  When I wondered why God even created me.  I must have been a cosmic joke.  When I was ready to give up and quit trying... God continued to reach out and offer me hope!  God continued to call me and see my potential instead of my failures.  God was cheering me on to the other side when all I could see was the disaster and chaos all around me.

God, unlike the men along side of the road, is not helpless to intervene in our lives.  He is able and willing to act on our behalf.  Not always in the ways we expect of anticipate, but in ways that will always help us develop faith.

God knows you and likes you!
